Great Pycon 2010 meals
Holeman and Finch http://www.holeman-finch.com/ served us nose-to-tail eats including crispy pig ears, veal heart, tongue, smoked lardo, bresaola, and sake-lami. Interesting wines too, all at a fair price.
Restaurant Eugene, next door, with same owner, served us a seven-course chef's tasting menu, each paired with wine. Not cheap, but good value. http://restauranteugene.com/
Both were a $20 cab ride away from downtown.
The Iberian Pig, in Decatur (30 minutes by MARTA), kept us well-lubricated with Spanish wines, fine meats, interesting servings, and an attractive environment.
Max Lager's was next door to the conference hotel, and had a fine selection of beers, many made there. The steak and (Niman Ranch) pork chop were quite good, with the latter served surprisingly (and pleasantly) rare.
